Section 6: Production

General Requirements

• ALL Materials must be colorfast and non-yellowing.
• Textile outsole flocking is acceptable to reduce duty.
• Leather outsole flocking is acceptable to reduce duty.
• Smaller KIDS sizes and all TODDLER sizes with outsole flocking, must be sprayed to increase slip resistance.
• All tongues must have lace keepers.
• All insoles must be removable.
• Starting with FALL 2025 production, sticky lined insoles are required for KIDS and TODDLER styles, when specified during development stage. If you are not sure if this applies, please check with our Design team.

1. KIDS/TODDLERS/WOMENS: Size 7mm wide for all shoelaces.
2. MENS: Size 10mm wide for all shoelaces.
3. TODDLERS: 4# Nylon zipper w/stretch fabric
4. KIDS/WOMENS/MENS: 5# Nylon zipper w/stretch fabric
5. Zip pull standard lengths:
   • TODDLER: 30mm, always stitched / not removable
   • KIDS/WOMENS: 40mm
   • MENS: 50mm

Quality Inspection: Is recommended for the factory to perform quality inspection at the beginning, during, and toward the end of the production to catch and eliminate any potential issues. Any type of deviation from the confirmation sample and/or spec sheet is NOT allowed unless verified with the BILLY Footwear team. 

Unexpected Issues: Must be communicated to BILLY Footwear team at the time of discovery, if the unexpected issues will affect quality, deviate from the Confirmation Sample, affect the ability to fulfill the order once and complete, or delay the shipment outside of the ship window set forth in our Purchase Orders.
